Today we carefully placed 10 eggs into the incubator to keep warm and discovered that we have to wait 21 days before they start to hatch. The countdown has begun!
Monday afternoon, our key stage one pupils got involved in an interactive number show. The concept was to have fun learning maths through dance. The Numberbods (groovy dancers) showed us how to make numbers with our bodies, dressed up and made a toy shop then tested our calculation skills by physically making different number sentences. A lot was going on!
We had lots of fun building a snowman and snow lady in our outdoor area. We named our snowman ‘Sam’ and our snow lady ‘Megan’.
Well done to all of our children in Reception who performed a fantastic Christmas story to both their families and the rest of the children in school. They did us proud!
The staff and children in our Reception class are really pleased with our new ‘outdoor’ kitchen, which was delivered this week. The plan is to use it as a ‘Mud Kitchen’, to encourage children to measure, weigh and mix as they play. The equipment, from a local company called James’ Shed, is a fantastic addition to our outdoor learning area.
Reception have had a brilliant first week and have been settling in well!
