Hi Everyone – Please click on the attached document to see your English Home Learning ideas for this week! We are learning all about Penguins this week!
If you have a Disney+ subscription you can watch the documentary all about penguins, or access Youtube to learn more about Penguins and where they live!
You can either print off these sheets and resources, use them on the computer or recreate at home if you don’t have a printer yourselves!
This week we have included an exciting PENGUIN PROJECT! You can be as creative as you like – maybe you want to make your own penguin or Antarctic habitat using recycled materials you have at home. We have attached some ideas on a document below. We would love to see your photos – Please send these to our Facebook page so we can share with the rest of school!
Hope you are all well, final countdown until the Summer now!

Here are some ideas of activities you could be completing at home to further practise phonics! You can either print off these sheets and resources, use them on the computer or recreate at home if you don’t have a printer yourselves!
Tricky words & Common exception words are words that your children should aim to spell and read by sight, without having to sound out. You could have a mini spelling quiz at home together! Practising little and often is advised. 🙂
Remember to look out for Phase 3 or Phase 5 activities, depending on what your child is able to complete.
Stay safe everyone!

Group 2 – Mrs Osmond and Mrs Marshall
Reading ‘The Queen’s Knickers’ inspired our children to design not only a new pair of knickers but also a new crown for Queen Elizabeth II.
The focus of this task was maths driven – naming and describing 2d shapes and then using them to create repeat patterns for decoration. Once created, pupils then had to describe their beautiful jewelled pattern.

Year One Maths (29.6.20)
This week, it’s more making and describing numbers within 50 using our mathematical language. Make sure that you think carefully about what you know about two digit numbers (for example, 35 is three groups of ten and five ones).
